Director of Human Resources Development (3301)

CAS is a leading aircraft Maintenance and Repair Organization, headquarters in Ontario, California. Our fast- growing company of 300 employees has aircraft mechanics at 11 of the largest US airports and has a “GO” team that travels anywhere in the world to modify or repair damaged aircraft. CAS also has great pride in its component overhaul operations. CAS expects to grow rapidly in the next five years with opportunities in both geographical and service extensions.

CAS is seeking a Director of Human Resource Development based at the headquarters Ontario, California.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities Include:

  • Create programs to attract and retain a skilled workforce
  • Develop and ensure that competitive compensation and award programs are rolled out effectively
  • Foster Management support and participation in employee development and training initiatives
  • Ensure that all HR policies and practices are complaint with applicable laws and best practice
  • Be an active leader to resolve employee relations challenges
  • Work closely with executive management for management development programs

Experience in developing and implementing creative approaches to the recruitment, ongoing employee communication and engagement will be a ticket to success. Along with well-versed back ground in a service oriented company, managing the complexities of non-exempt and exempt employees based in multiple states.

Travel to company sites will be required. Travel may be for several days at a time. A “get it done” attitude and proven ability to introduce and manage programs in a diverse culture environment is essential.

Competencies:

  • Successful experience in modifying and scaling programs to fit company culture
  • Strong analytical and communication skills a “must have” skill set
  • Strong leadership skills

Work Experience Requirements:

  • 8-10 years HR work experience (at least 3 years at management level) in mid-size and large companies with robust employee program and practices.

Education, License, and Certfication Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree required
  • HR professional certification is a plus

Ontario, CA (Field Services)

Quality Coordinator (1023)

The Quality Coordinator reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager and indirectly to the General Manager. This position includes but is not limited to administering the company AS9110 quality program, and assisting with the FAA 145 training, and quality program.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manages AS9110 Quality management program
  • Works with suppliers and internal groups to drive continual improvement
  • Performs on-site audits and evaluations at the company's stations
  • Develops systems and documentation for specific programs that ensure that products and services provided meet all contractual and program quality requirements
  • Participate in development and improvements of the Quality Management Systems such as: Quality Planning, Corrective and Preventative Actions, Control of Non-conforming products, Process Monitoring, Evaluates, revises, and applies technical quality assurance protocols/methods, Evaluate in-process maintenance and procedures, and maintenance equipment
  • Participates in activities to ensure compliance to in-house and/or external standards such as ISO 9001-2008/AS9110, EASA, TCCA, & FAA
  • Ensures that established service inspection, sampling and statistical process control procedures are followed
  • Performs analysis and identifies trends in the inspection of in-process, finished processes, and recommend improvements as needed
  • Receives moderate instruction on day-to-day work, determines methods and procedures on new assignments

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in Quality Management with significant experience in ISO 9001-2008, preferably AS9110
  • QA background in heavy jet, MRO, or OEM
  • A&P licensed mechanic with 5 years’ experience in corporate or commercial line and/or heavy maintenance
  • Fluent in verbal and written communication
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions (RCA for NCR’s/CAR’s/CAPAs)
  • Ability to interpret technical standards
  • Ability to create spreadsheets and perform basic analytical calculations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, suppliers, and customers

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Communication with customer on site and with maintenance control
  • Complete customer and station documentation and turnover logs
  • FAA Repair Station paperwork and policies
  • Perform aircraft maintenance

Qualified Candidates will have the following experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years commercial maintenance experience
  • Boeing Aircraft B737/747/757/767/777 and 787
  • Airbus Aircraft A319/320/321 and A330/340
  • McDonnell Douglas MD-80 and MD-11

Additional experience preferred:

  • Avionics experience

Chicago, IL (ORD - Chicago O'Hare International Airport)

Station Manager (2202)

Certified Aviation Services (CAS) is seeking a Station Manager at our ORD repair station located at the O’Hare International Airport. Ideal candidate must have the following minimum qualifications. Position reports to Vice President, Operations.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Working Manager performing duties outlined in CAS’ manuals
  • Prepare assignments of technicians; administration and attendance via CAS’s ERP System
  • Ensure all technicians operate in compliance with air carriers ‘approved manuals, policies and procedures
  • Monitor manpower required on all assigned shifts; responsible directly or indirectly of assigning technicians to obtain maximum productivity and efficiency
  • Daily interface with customers
  • Coordinate and control personnel, equipment, tooling, and resources to assure the customer aircraft on an AOG situation is corrected in a timely manner, satisfying the air carriers’ operational requirements
  • Ensure all station tooling is calibrated in accordance with FAA and air carriers’ specifications. Track and monitor the calibration validity, availability, and serviceability of all tooling
  • Ensure all technicians comply with CAS’s Policies and procedures
  • Communicate with VP of Operations on all station issues in a timely manner
  • Ensure frequent review of emails, phone messages
  • Participate in weekly conference calls with the Sr. Managers
  • Coordinate with Sr. Managers and HR on all hiring and disciplinary actions
  • Ensure all CAS paperwork is reviewed for accuracy and submitted accordingly when due
  • Recruit, hire, and train new technicians
  • Evaluate MX discrepancies and resolve concerns
  • Perform additional duties as needed
  • Must be flexible to work nights, holidays, weekends, and some travel
